895) I don’t mind so much when cisgender people don’t understand what it means to be genderqueer or non-binary. What really depresses me is when I see trans* people (online, usually) ridiculing pronouns like ze/hir and saying they’re “too weird” for everyday use or mocking non-binary people. It feels like we’re going through a similar struggle to be recognized for who we are; shouldn’t we stick together? I know that not all trans* people are like this, of course, but seeing this behavior in places I thought would be understanding bothers me in a way I can’t really explain.
